Sculpture Trail to enhance the beautiful gardens at Beaulieu

One of the largest exhibitions of sculpture in the country will open on 24th May at the National Motor Museum, Beaulieu, creating a stimulating Sculpture Trail that will lead visitors from the world famous Motor Museum through into the enchanting gardens that surround Palace House and Beaulieu Abbey.
The sculptures have been carefully selected from the works of over 300 Surrey Sculpture Society members, from talented amateurs to the artistry of top professional sculptors, who come from all over the South of England including a number from Hampshire. (This well established regional arts organisation was recently featured on Claudia Winkleman’s Arts Programme on BBC Radio 2).
The word Beaulieu means ‘beautiful place’ and the gardens of this premier visitor attraction will be further enhanced by the diverse range of larger sculptures that will be exhibited throughout the formal and informal gardens including the Victorian Flower, Herb, Ornamental Kitchen and Wilderness Gardens.

Smaller sculptures will be thoughtfully displayed within Palace House, which is a designated ‘Treasure Houses of England’, one of just ten of the most magnificent stately homes of Britain.

This historic setting is the perfect environment to show the creative and imaginative sculptures,  including contemporary abstract and traditional pieces in figurative, floral, animal and human form in a wide range of materials, with something to appeal to every taste and budget.

The exhibition runs from 24th May until the 2nd September from 10am daily.  For further detailed information about the exhibition visit www.surreysculpture.org.uk

As well as admission to 13th century Beaulieu Abbey and Palace House and Gardens, visitors to the Sculpture Trail will also be able to enjoy all of Beaulieu’s many main attractions including the National Motor Museum, with its new exhibition BOND IN MOTION, World of Top Gear and the fascinating Secret Army Exhibition.  There are also many places to picnic within the picturesque parkland, or visitors can enjoy Leith’s Brabazon Restaurant.
