There is something for all the family at this year’s Beaulieu Boatjumble on Sunday 27th April. The largest outdoor sale of boating items in Europe with hundreds of stands selling nautical bargains, there are also activities for the whole family to enjoy.
Are you up for a challenge? Then visit the Calshot Activities Centre stand in the new Display Area and take on the nine metre rock climbing tower. If you prefer to keep your feet closer to the ground, why not try your skill at surfing on the Surf Simulator or push the limits on the kayak ergo’s – and see where you finish on the leader board.

Also in the Display Area and making their first visit to the Boatjumble is The National Museum of the Royal Navy. They will have original objects on display and games to play including that old navy favourite - quoits. The game of Battleships will be there too, for children from 10 to 80! For younger children there will be mystery objects to identify, ship models to construct and dressing up with a naval theme. There is also much fun to be had on the giant, nautical-themed slides. The whole family can enjoy demonstrations by the Boat Building Training College.
In the Boatmall, new boats from leading manufacturers and brokerages are up for sale, plus all the latest clothing and products. Head for the Boatmart, bringing together a wide range of used boats, from classics to nearly new and those in need of restoration, which can be viewed before you buy. In the enlarged Trunk Traders area, amateur jumblers can sell their surplus second-hand sailing items from the boot of their car. Trading is brisk, so get there early.

Don’t miss the Walkabout Auction, a new feature and ‘end of show’ chance to buy and sell surplus items of stock exhibitors don’t want to take home with them. For just £2, exhibitors can buy a box to fill with bits to be auctioned at the end of the afternoon, by a guest auctioneer.
The RNLI will be running a Safety Lifejacket Clinic offering advice and free lifejacket safety checks. They will also be holding an auction on their stand at 3pm.
The Classic Motor Boat Association will be putting on their traditional display of members’ classic boats and antique outboard engines. At the entrance to the Boatmall, the Association will also be displaying aviation pioneer and yachtsman Tommy Sopwith’s powerboat, Thunderstreak.

For those visitors arriving by public transport, there will be free shuttle buses running between 8am and 6pm from Buckler’s Hard Marina, the Lymington Isle of Wight Ferry Terminal and Brockenhurst station.

It’s that time of year again when motoring devotees turn their thoughts to making their annual pilgrimage to the spiritual home of autojumbling for Beaulieu’s world-famous International Autojumble on the 7th and 8th September.
Now in its 47th year, this event shows no signs of slowing with a total of 38,500 people flocking to Beaulieu for last year’s two day show. The International Autojumble undeniably remains the biggest sale of motoring items this side of the Atlantic.
The 2,000 available stand spaces are much in demand, and expected to sell out quickly, so if you have yet to book your spot, make your booking soon to avoid disappointment. For visitors, the stands are a treasure trove of motoring parts, accessories, automobilia, literature, tools and clothing and much much more – you cannot fail to pick up a bargain.
All the traditional elements of the International Autojumble will be present; visit the Automart where up to 200 vehicles will be on sale, from restoration projects to concours condition vehicles or take a look around the Dealermart, selling a range of classic cars.
The event is known for its cosmopolitan flavour, with increasing numbers of overseas visitors attending and a wide variety of languages to be heard on the event fields. For stand-holders it is as much about renewing friendships and socialising as it is about selling, with many having exhibited for more than 25 years and some who attended the very first autojumble in 1967.
This year, Beaulieu will be welcoming two brand new sponsors to the show. Practical Classics magazine is returning as the show’s media sponsor after some time away. The team will be on their stand over the weekend, continuing their renovation of the MGB GT LE, which was first owned by the Montagu family. They aim to complete the project and have the car running by the end of the show on Sunday. Head over to Ringwood Brewery’s stand for a taste of their own cask beer. Making its debut as a show sponsor, Ringwood has been producing beautiful craft ales at its brewery on the edge of the New Forest since 1978 and the company’s four permanent ales – Best Bitter, Fortyniner, Old Thumper and Boondoggle – are favourites with New Forest residents.
On the Saturday, Bonhams auction house will be running its popular sale of collectors’ cars, motorcycles and automobilia. If you fancy bidding on an item or two please bear in mind that you can only gain entry with a catalogue (available to purchase on tel. 0207 393 3900).
Sunday will see the opening of Trunk Traders, where amateur autojumblers will be selling surplus motoring items from their car boots. This is a great place to find hidden motoring gems at bargain prices, so don’t miss it! Alternatively, if you need to clear space in your garage, why not book a place in Trunk Traders for yourself?
Admission to Beaulieu on both days will be from 8.30am, when programmes will be available to purchase and visitors will be able to access the National Motor Museum, toilets, and Brabazon Restaurant, where breakfast will be served.

Beaulieu’s annual Boatjumble, held in the grounds of the National Motor Museum, is this year taking place on 28th April. Now in its 36th year, the Boatjumble is the largest outdoor sale of boating items in Europe, so come along and hook some nautical bargains.
Beaulieu’s Events Manager, Judith Maddox, said: ”We were very disappointed to have to cancel the Boatjumble last year because of adverse weather conditions but were very encouraged by the positive response from stallholders, many of whom carried their stand booking forward to this year. New bookings are now coming in well.
“The new street-style Boat Mall, introduced in 2011 proved very popular and was fully booked for 2012 so we anticipate strong bookings again for this year. Trunk Traders also goes from strength to strength with a larger area devoted to this feature for 2013.”

Don’t miss a display by The Classic Motor Boat Association of members’ classic boats and antique outboard engines. Members will also be on hand to talk to visitors about the activities of the Association, whose aim is to promote affordable preservation and enjoyment of classic runabouts, racing boats and engines through active rallies around the UK.
Younger visitors can also enjoy Bubble of Fun, an activity allowing you to walk on water in giant transparent balls, as well as Boats of Fun and giant nautical themed slides.
Visitors to the event will be able to enjoy all the Beaulieu attractions including the National Motor Museum’s exciting exhibition, BOND IN MOTION, with its run now extended for a further year. The exhibition showcases 50 original vehicles from the James Bond films, including the Glastron GT-150 which performed a jaw-dropping jump over an 85ft levy in Live And Let Die, and the world’s very first Wetbike from The Spy Who Loved Me.
