Beaulieu boatjumble... wind and rain stop play!

It was with great regret that the organisers of the Beaulieu Boatjumble had to cancel this year’s event on the 29th April, due to the strong gusting winds forecast for Sunday.
Because of the heavy rain and resulting poor ground conditions in the run-up to the event, plans were already in place to re-route vehicles coming onto the showground and to move stands where necessary.  However the forecasts of strong winds for Sunday gave the organisers no option but to cancel the event for the safety and well being of exhibitors, visitors and staff.
Beaulieu’s Commercial Director, Stephen Munn, said: “Our decision to cancel the Boatjumble is not one we took lightly and I share the disappointment of exhibitors and visitors that they could not enjoy, for the first time in 34 years, their annual ‘start of season’ rummage at the Beaulieu Boatjumble.”

“My Events Team put a considerable amount of hard work into setting up the event, in increasingly challenging conditions, but was ultimately thwarted by the wind.”

“Unfortunately, due to Beaulieu’s busy Events calendar, it is not possible to reschedule the event for this year but we will be making the 2013 Beaulieu Boatjumble bigger than ever and we thank those exhibitors who have already confirmed their booking for next year.”

The date for the 2013 Boatjumble is Sunday, 28th April.
